St. Peter's Mar Thoma Church

St. Peter's Mar Thoma Church is the fruition of a long cherished aspiration of the Mar Thoma community that moved east of Delhi, beyond the river Yamuna. Though there were intermittent prayers and services that were held to cater to the pastoral needs of this community, the need for a parish became strong and incessant towards the beginning of the last decade of the 20th century. In 1993, by a 'kalpana', the parish was established as the St. Peter's Mar Thoma Church with 140 subscribing members and became the 3rd church to be established in the capital city of Delhi.

Today, as the parish celebrates its silver jubilee, it is an occasion of heartfelt thanksgiving for the manifold blessings that has been showered on its people. In these 25 years, the church has been able to construct a church building, a parsonage and a parish hall to cater to its diverse social commitments and activities. The parish has also been instrumental in witnessing to people in the vicinity with various charity and missionary works.

Message from the Vicar

Rev Thomas K Anchery

"Greetings to all in the precious name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. As St. Peter's Mar Thoma Church, Delhi; we are about to reach a milestone, the Silver Jubilee of our church. This is a time to thank God for His manifold blessings upon us each day. When we look back, we realise how far we have come in the last 25 years, we surely accept that God had been really good, faithful and merciful towards us as a Church, family or as individuals. It is high time for us to introspect- Are we faithful to God and will we be able to witness Him faithfully? So lets confess our sins and shortcomings to God and rededicate ourselves as a Church, for the glory of our heavenly father and for the extension of His Kingdom.
