The Shilah Charitable Society was established in the year 1996 under the Societies Registration Act of 1860, as applicable to the Union Territory of Delhi. It is with the objective to promote the spiritual, intellectual, educational, physical, charitable and social interest of the people of Delhi. The Registered office is situated at St Peter's Mar Thoma Church Complex, 29, I P Extension, Delhi 110092.

The Society has two social projects : Deepshikha and Mahila Deepthi


Deepshikha


Through Deepshikha, we are imparting supplementary education to the school going poor children from neighbouring areas free of cost. There is an average attendance of 150 students registered. We have 12 teachers and a care taker.

Regular activities like Drawing/Painting competition are conducted to draw out the talents and gifts of these children.

Cash awards are given to best students of the year. Cultural events, annual day and christmas celebrations are conducted every year.

Picnics and educational excursions are also organized on a regular basis.




Mahila Deepthi


Mahila Deepthi Project was started in 2010 with a vision to empower woman of the weaker section. We provide training for cutting and tailoring free of cost and now completed eight years. Average attendance is 13 and supervised by Mrs Minu Alex.

Regular activities like Drawing/Painting competition are conducted to draw out the talents and gifts of these children.

Cash awards are given to best students of the year. Cultural events, annual day and christmas celebrations are conducted every year.

Picnics and educational excursions are also organized on a regular basis.
